The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 670mm is a large ornamental ceiling feature defined by an unusual shell inspired composition arranged across a five point circular structure. The design combines layered shell forms with flowing leaf ornament to create a sculptural centrepiece that radiates outward across the surface of the rose. The irregular five point layout introduces a distinctive visual rhythm that separates the design from more traditional symmetrical ceiling roses.

As large ceiling rose, the composition balances decorative ornament with a strong circular outline that frames the lighting position within the ceiling. The shell forms create a sense of movement across the moulding while the surrounding structure keeps the design visually contained.

Victorian Influence

This period ceiling rose reflects decorative traditions associated with Victorian interior plasterwork, where natural forms and sculptural ornament were frequently incorporated into ceiling decoration. The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 670mm in diameter (approximately 26.5 inches) has a maximum thickness of 30mm. This scale makes the rose suitable for medium sized rooms where modest ceiling heights allow decorative plaster features to remain proportionate within the surrounding space.

The centre of the rose is fully decorative and is best suited for use with a small cup fitting positioned beneath the central ornament. Its design and size work well alongside original or newly installed plaster decorative mouldings.

Craftsmanship & Material

Each Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 670mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk using traditional casting techniques followed by careful hand finishing. This ensures the shell forms and surrounding leaf ornament remain crisp and clearly defined across the moulding.

Fibrous plaster allows the sculptural details to retain their clarity once installed and decorated while providing durability suited to architectural plasterwork. The result is a distinctive decorative ceiling feature that introduces Victorian character and visual depth to the centre of the room.
