About our Sunningdale Bloom Plaster Ceiling Rose

Design & Detailing

The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 510mm is a medium sized decorative ceiling feature defined by a bold botanical composition arranged within a structured circular framework. The centre of the rose incorporates a large sculpted leaf design that radiates outward toward a decorative perimeter band. This layered arrangement of foliage introduces depth and visual texture across the moulding while maintaining a balanced architectural structure.

Surrounding the central ornament is a refined decorative band that incorporates subtle classical enrichment. As a traditional plaster ceiling rose, the design combines botanical detail with architectural perimeter structure to produce a clear focal point within the ceiling.

Victorian Influence

This period ceiling rose reflects decorative traditions commonly associated with Victorian interior plasterwork, where botanical ornament and classical decorative patterns were frequently combined. During the nineteenth century leaf forms and architectural moulding details were often integrated into ceiling centres to produce richly detailed compositions.

The mixture of foliage and perimeter ornament aligns closely with many Victorian style ceiling rose installations found in traditional interiors. These decorative centrepieces often served as the visual anchor of the ceiling, complementing surrounding cornices and other plaster mouldings.

Size & Ceiling Proportion

The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 510mm in diameter (approximately 20.1 inches) has a maximum thickness of 30mm. This proportion places the rose comfortably within medium sized rooms where modest ceiling heights allow decorative plasterwork to remain visually balanced within the surrounding space.

The centre opening accommodates a light fitting up to 75mm in diameter, allowing pendant fittings to pass neatly through the centre while the surrounding ornament frames the lighting position.

Craftsmanship & Material

Each Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 510mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk using traditional casting techniques followed by careful hand finishing. This ensures the leaf ornament and perimeter detailing remain crisp and clearly defined across the moulding.

Fibrous plaster allows intricate decorative elements to retain sharp definition once installed and decorated while providing durability suited to plaster decorative mouldings. The result is a refined decorative ceiling feature that introduces Victorian character and architectural presence to the centre of the room.
