About our Grosvenor Rosette Plaster Ceiling Rose
Design & Detailing
The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 630mm is a medium sized ornamental ceiling feature composed of multiple concentric decorative rings arranged around a sculpted floral centre. The design incorporates a series of ornamental bands including bead details, ribbon forms and subtle architectural contours that frame the central motif. At the heart of the composition sits a floral rosette which introduces depth and botanical ornament across the centre of the moulding.
As a traditional plaster ceiling rose, the layered ring structure creates a clear visual hierarchy within the design. Each decorative band forms a distinct boundary that helps organise the surrounding ornament while guiding the eye toward the central floral element.
Victorian Influence
This period ceiling rose reflects decorative traditions associated with Victorian interior plasterwork, where elaborate circular compositions were frequently used to form striking ceiling centrepieces. The use of concentric decorative rings combined with botanical ornament was particularly common during the nineteenth century.
The layered ring structure seen in this design aligns closely with many Victorian style ceiling rose installations used within traditional interiors. These decorative features often incorporated a mixture of classical moulding profiles and floral motifs to create visually rich architectural focal points.
Size & Ceiling Proportion
The Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 630mm in diameter (approximately 25 inches) has a maximum thickness of 30mm. This proportion makes the rose suitable for medium sized rooms where modest ceiling heights allow decorative plasterwork to remain visually balanced within the surrounding space.
The centre of the rose is fully decorative and is best suited for use with a small cup fitting positioned beneath the central ornament.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each Victorian Decorative plaster ceiling rose 630mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk using traditional casting techniques followed by careful hand finishing. This ensures the bead detailing, ribbon ornament and floral centre remain crisp and clearly defined across the moulding.
Fibrous plaster allows intricate decorative bands and botanical ornament to retain sharp definition once installed and decorated while providing durability suited to plaster decorative mouldings. The result is a refined decorative ceiling feature that introduces Victorian character and architectural structure to the centre of the room.
