About our 4 Step Art Deco Plaster Ceiling Rose
Design & Detailing
The Art Deco Plain plaster ceiling rose 610mm is a medium sized ceiling feature defined by a sequence of stepped circular rings that create a crisp geometric centrepiece. The design uses four evenly spaced stepped bands arranged concentrically around the lighting point, producing a structured architectural composition typical of Art Deco interiors.
The stepped profile creates clear shadow lines that give the rose depth without relying on floral or classical ornament. As a traditional plaster ceiling rose, the design demonstrates how geometric form alone can define the centre of a ceiling while maintaining a restrained decorative presence.
Art Deco Influence
This period ceiling rose reflects the geometric design language associated with early twentieth century Art Deco interiors. During this period many decorative plaster features moved away from natural foliage ornament and instead adopted clean lines and stepped forms influenced by modern architecture.
The circular stepped pattern seen here mirrors architectural motifs used across Art Deco cornices, lighting details and architectural mouldings. The restrained geometry aligns closely with many art deco ceiling rose installations where symmetry and proportion form the main decorative element.
Size & Ceiling Proportion
The Art Deco Plain plaster ceiling rose 610mm in diameter (approximately 24 inches) has a maximum thickness of 48mm. This proportion places the rose comfortably within medium sized rooms where modest ceiling heights benefit from a clearly defined ceiling centrepiece that does not overpower the surrounding space.
The centre opening accommodates a light fitting up to 150mm in diameter, making the rose suitable for larger pendant fittings or chandelier cups. Its scale and design works well within new and traditional interiors incorporating heritage plaster mouldings.
Craftsmanship & Material
Each Art Deco Plain plaster ceiling rose 610mm is produced in fibrous plaster at our workshop in Norfolk using traditional casting techniques followed by careful hand finishing. This process ensures the stepped rings remain clean and sharply defined across the moulding.
Fibrous plaster allows the geometric profiles to retain crisp edges once installed and decorated while providing durability suited to architectural plasterwork. The result is a structured ceiling feature that introduces strong architectural definition to the centre of the room.
